As our outgoing President of the Old Bristolians' Society, James Harris wanted to combine his love and support of Bristol Grammar School with his community in Long Ashton by creating and hosting this Summer Concert.
The Revd James Harris is Rector of the Benefice of Long Ashton with Barrow Gurney and Flax Bourton as well as an Old Bristolian (OB 1997), and involved parent of two current Bristol Grammar School students! We're so delighted to have James' support in this way and we hope to see many of you at this event.
The Summer Concert will be raising funds for the 500 Campaign - Changing Lives Through Bursaries. As we approach our 500th anniversary in 2032, we encourage our BGS community to support bright and able children who deserve to be here at Bristol Grammar School. Our aim is to enable one in four children to receive a means tested bursary of at least 50%. We plan to raise £12million by 2032. The students who benefit, who we refer to as “Bursary Award Holders”, increase academic standards, inclusivity, and diversity, adding to the educational experience of every child, enriching Bristol Grammar School beyond measure.Thank you in advance for your support. You can read more about the 500 Campaign, and read testimonies from students, donors and parents here.
