Alan John Durbin. 1941-2023. 1950-1959.

We are saddened to let you know that Alan Durbin passed away on Sunday 3 December at 11am at the BRI in Bristol.

Alan attended BGS between 1950-1960 leaving to become a dentist and opening a practice with two other Old Bristolians across the years. Writing his friend Keith McGlynn's obituary two years ago he wrote 

"Along with five others, we formed a band of brothers who vowed to stay in touch with each other throughout our respective lives which I'm pleased to say we managed."

Alan qualified as a dentist from Bristol in 1965 and joined Keith and later Dave Powell as associates at Hanham practice. "As you can imagine the practice became very successful."

Alan left the practice in 1972 to set up a new pactice in Portishead where Keith joined in 1974 and again built up an impressive list of patients. Alan was a regular member of the Lunch Club held once a month and a much loved member.
