OBs' News |
It is with great sadness that we have to share the news that Paul Abrams, a much-loved member of BGS staff, has recently passed away. Our thoughts are with his wife, Jo, and his family and friends at this very sad time.
An integral member of the Facilities Team at BGS, which he joined as a Shift Porter in 2008, Paul was a familiar and friendly face to many in the BGS community. His cheery personality and willingness to help made him incredibly popular and Paul regularly went ‘above and beyond’ for staff and pupils alike. We know this event has come as a deep shock to many within the school community and Paul will be greatly missed. In coming weeks, we will explore how, we, as a community, can officially commemorate and remember Paul when the time is right to do so.
As well as knowing Paul, many of you in the BGS community will also know his wife Jo, our Senior School receptionist, and we know you join us in sending our deepest sympathies to her. If you wish to share any messages of condolence for Jo, please send them c/o Catherine Davies (Headmaster’s PA), Bristol Grammar School University Road, BS8 1SR or to cdavies@bgs.bristol.sch.uk
The funeral to celebrate Paul’s life will be on the 21 July 2023 at Westerleigh Crematorium Waterside Chapel at 11.45am, followed by a reception at Oldland Village Club. Full details are available here. All friends are welcome to join Jo and the family in this celebration of Paul's life.
