Annual General Meeting The Old Bristolians' Society

Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of members is to be held at The Old Bristolians’ War Memorial Ground at Failand on Tuesday, March 10th, 2026, commencing at 6:00 pm.

Agenda:

1. Apologies for Absence

2. Approval of the Minutes of the AGM held on Wednesday, March 12th, 2025

3. Report of the Society Committee

4. The Treasurer’s Report and Statement of Accounts to September 30th, 2025

5. Election of Officers of the Society

6. Election of Representative(s) of the Old Bristolians’ Sports Club

7. To consider resolutions

8. Any other business within the scope of this meeting

Nominations of members, duly seconded, to act as Officers of the Society should be emailed to the Secretary as below to arrive no later than Tuesday, February 24th, 2025. Officers presenting themselves for re-election do not need to be formally nominated.

Resolutions to be submitted to the AGM should be emailed to the Secretary 28 days in advance of the meeting and by Wednesday, February 10th duly proposed and seconded.

The Officers of the Society are the President (John Bassett), the President Elect (Romesh Vaitilingam), the Chair of the Committee (Marcus Cryer), the Vice Chair of the Committee, the Secretary (Ian Southcott), the Treasurer (Richard Leonard), the Society’s School Liaison Officer (Peter Jakobek), the Society’s Archivist (Anne Bradley), the Editor of the Society’s magazine ‘Bristolienses’ (Ian Southcott), the Failand Memorial Officer (James King), the Society’s AROPS representative (Peter Jakobek), the Society’s Careers Co-ordinator (Rob Hagen) and the Social Events Liaison Officer (Vacant).

By nomination of the Committee, the President of the Society for 2026/2027 is Romesh Vaitilingam.
