We are deeply saddened to inform the BGS & Old Bristolian community that long standing staff member Mandy Meredith passed away on Wednesday night. Mandy has worked in catering at BGS for over twenty years and was a much loved member of our community. Working mainly in the JCR (in the Sixth Form centre) and at Failand, many of you may have met her up at the Failand pavilion, or in School during your time at BGS as a student or a parent.
Justin Harford, Head of Sixth Form adds "Mandy was dearly loved by so many of us, including thousands of OBs who will have fond memories of her serving them in the JCR of the Sixth Form Centre. Kim ‘n’ Mand are BGS legends!"
This news has left, and will leave, so many of us terribly upset across the whole community – and in particular, our colleagues in Catering, the Sixth Form team and Failand. She will also be missed by the thousands of OBs for whom she was a fixture in their Sixth Form years.
We have opened a book of condolence in the Sixth Form Centre. We would very much like as many OBs as possible to contribute their thoughts and memories which we will add to the book and pass on to her family. Please contact Jane Hicks in order to do so.
Jaideep Barot, Headmaster "Those of us who knew her will all carry our own memories of Mandy. For me, it is her genuine care for all, her cheery smile and conversation, including always asking how I and my family were doing. We will miss her terribly."
Our thoughts are with her husband Mike, her children & everyone who knew and loved her.
With best wishes,
Jaideep Barot, Justin Harford & all of the BGS community
