After leaving BGS Jordan studied French at Oxford University where he was a member of the Oxford University Dramatic Society. He has since achieved huge success as a screenwriter, playwright, and actor. His writing debut SON OF DYKE enjoyed a five-star sell-out run at the Underbelly, Edinburgh Fringe. Most recently, Jordan’s play A ROLE TO DIE FOR enjoyed a successful run at Barn Theatre, Cirencester and received positive critical reviews, described as “a rip-roaring, wickedly funny comedy” and “a real five-star blockbuster”. For the screen, Jordan has written two feature films – one a comedy drama starring Judi Dench and Sally Phillips, the other a comedy horror film – and a short film HELD FOR A MOMENT (Winner of Best Short Film at London Film Festival 2019). As an actor, Jordan has appeared in The Gilded Age, Victoria and the Darkest Hour.
Can you remember any teachers who had an impact on you?
The teachers at BGS always went above and beyond with pupils. My academic and creative interests were nurtured by kind and inquisitive adults to whom I owe so much: Mr Briggs, Mrs Yemenakis, Dr Ransom, Mr Holman, Miss Jones, Mr Martyn ('s sideburns) and many, many more.
What did you do after school?
I went to university. I struggled for a long time to get an agent. I was very lucky to be cast in a big period drama, which helped me break into the industry. From there, I started writing.
Why the performing arts?
Because I'm a masochist.
What have been the highlights of your career?
Dame Diana Rigg once farted on me.
What challenges are there in your industry currently?
Money.
What’s next for you?
Producers' notes.
What motivates you?
The desire to be proud of my work.
How do you relax?
Not nearly enough.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Be yourself, and get a hair-cut.
